Stress and anxiety are now among the most common challenges affecting Canadian workplaces, impacting productivity, engagement, retention, and overall team well-being.

According to Statistics Canada, over 4.1 million employed Canadians (approximately 21%) report high or very high levels of work-related stress. Workload pressures and work-life balance challenges remain the most common contributors.

At the same time, research from workplace mental health organizations shows that:

  • Nearly 40% of Canadian employees report feeling constantly stressed.

  • About 1 in 4 working Canadians report experiencing burnout most or all of the time.

  • Approximately 70% of employees say their workplace significantly impacts their mental health.

  • Only about half of managers feel confident recognizing when employees are struggling.
