I'm so excited to be sharing this chat with Emily Lewis of Mindfulness with Emily. I think we can all use a little more mindfulness in our lives right now.
In our conversation, we talk about:
What mindfulness actually IS - there's so much buzz around this topic right now but how can we understand it in plain language?
What mindfulness is NOT (hint: it's not about "clearing" your mind of thoughts)
A simple example of mindfulness - putting your hands around a warm mug and sitting for a moment feeling the warmth and noticing the experience.
What's happening (physically) in our brains and bodies when we are going through periods of stress (hint: it's the modern day version of running from a Lion) and how mindfulness is based in psychology and neuroscience.
How we can use our breathing to help us feel more relaxed & quiet our nervous system.
How important it is to be aware of the small moments in life.
