The Energy Answer with Alison Butler is an interview series where we explore mental & physical well being and tools we can use to reduce stress and overwhelm.

Today on The Energy Answer I'm chatting with Ryan Osborne of Oz Coaching. Ryan is a Kinesiologist and coach helping people become fit leaders.
In our conversation, we talk about:
How "I don't feel good" is a common theme for so many people for improving their fitness and well being - whether it be "I'm in pain", "I sit a lot", "I can't get on the floor with my kids" etc.
Physical and mental health go together - most of us are struggling with stress and overwhelm in some part of our life and it impacts everything that you do.
Mindset matters - most people think "I need to be motivated to move". Action (movement) creates momentum.
Work on your goals in small increments and focus on how you feel AFTER moving.
The importance of making a small, good action as soon as you wake up and then move forward from there.
If you are 40 or older, it's important to a) get to know your stress & how you handle it b) strength train c) pay attention to recovery time - you need more recovery than you did when you were younger.
